It's Time to Pick a Camp Name!

A "CAMP NAME" IS WHAT EVERYONE WILL CALL YOU AT CAMP

Camp Names often have something to do with nature but can be anything that is fun or meaningful to you.  People often wear t-shirts, socks, or other gear that fits with their name.  Give it a little thought because you may have it for a while!

Claimed Camp Names

As of 2020, Camp Butano Creek reserves the name of camp members for 10 years. This means that, unless an extreme situation presents itself, new voyagers and staff will need to select a name that is not already taken by a current or past staff.  The most important reason to avoid duplicate camp names is that we never want staff returning from a break to feel that they have been replaced by someone with the same name.  On a less important note, staff members with the same name, even if they’re not in the same session, create issues with tracking service years, shirt sizes, and other clerical challenges.  Going forward, we will work with staff who have been permitted to have duplicate names in previous years because there was no policy in place.
