Campers & Staff Love to Get Mail!

SEND MAIL EARLY AND OFTEN

Mail is SO important to campers.  Being one of the few who doesn't get mail is SO disappointing for your child.  It is heartbreaking when this happens.  If a camper doesn't get mail for a few days, our counselors will write to your camper.  But it's a poor substitute for a letter from YOU!!!  Try to write enough letters or postcards so that they get something every day!  Encourage friends and family to write letters too.  And by the way, you WILL get mail from them!

Care Packages

Yes, you can send them a care package, but please do not send food or snacks. Our campers get PLENTY of food at camp, including snacks and desserts. Critters, storage, food allergies, and enough-for-everyone issues make food care packages a real problem. What can you send? Comic books, coloring books, puzzle books or small toys are all welcome treats.

Postal Mail Takes Time

Mail is a little slow to reach us, so please allow several extra days mailing time.  Start writing and mailing before they leave for camp.  You can even send all of your letters early and mark the outside of the envelopes: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday.  We deliver mail Sunday through Friday.  You can also hand a bundle of letters to your camper's staff when you drop your camper off - you know they will make it and you save the cost of postage!

"I bring a written letter or card for each day of camp for my daughter - labeled with her name, unit name, and the day I want it delivered. I put them all in a ziploc bag and hand them to her unit leader when we arrive. That way I know she gets mail from me every day and I do not have to deal with the post office. It's so easy!"
