Packing List

It's Time to Pack for Camp!

BE SURE TO LABEL EVERYTHING WITH YOUR CAMPER'S NAME
Camp Butano Creek is near the ocean; mornings can be cold & damp—drizzle and even rain are a possibility.  Please equip your camper accordingly.  Pack enough shirts, socks, and underwear so that you have enough for each day plus an extra set or two.

Medication & Prescriptions

We are able to administer your camper’s prescription medications.  Please see our Health Center & Medications section to learn how to pack them.  Please leave over the counter medications at home as our Health Center is fully stocked.
"The camp nurses were wonderful about making sure my daughter took her meds each day!"

Helpful Advice

  • Be sure to send enough clothes to last eight days. We do not have laundry facilities for campers.  For 2021, campers will need enough cloth face masks for eight days (with a few spares), as well.
  • When packing for camp, think of your camper, if they tend to be cold pack extra warm things.
  • Pack enough shirts, socks, and underwear so your child has enough for each day and an extra or two.
  • It is best to bundle outfits together for each individual day, so it is easier for your camper to get ready in the morning. You can even put a set of clothes (pants, shirt, socks and underwear) in a gallon-sized zip-top bag and labeled as “shorts & t-shirt” or “long sleeved / long pants”.
  • It is best to put all bottles containing liquid (shampoo, liquid soap, sun-screen) in plastic bags for traveling.
  • While at camp it is easier if your camper has something to carry their bathroom supplies in; mesh bags work well.
  • Attach a packing list inside your camper’s bag to help them pack at the end of the session.
  • For younger campers, pre-address and stamp envelopes for letters to you or other relatives.
  • For older campers, make sure they know how to address and stamp envelopes or postcards before going to camp.
  • Have your camper pack their bags with you so they will know where to find everything.

Dress Code

Our dress code requirements are based on safety and activity appropriateness, along with the values of our camp.
  • Closed toe / heel shoes required for all camp activities. Flip flops are okay in the shower.
  • Crew or longer length socks required for all camp activities to avoid tick bites, poison oak, and scratches.
  • Regular-length (not cropped) shirts without fringe are required for daily archery activities.
  • T-shirts are recommended to protect against sunburn and bug bites. However, if wearing tank tops, there is no minimum strap width and racer back style is okay.
  • Short shorts are not recommended due to the threat of splinters and tick bites.
"I always send my girl to camp with knee-high socks that have fun patterns. She gets to show off her personality and I know she's protected from ticks."
